2007 put her temporarily at number-one in the
world rankings…Heads to Olympics at number-four…At
2006 world championships her ride was afflicted
with mechanical problems..… At 2005 world
championships Cools was second in the race when
a rider landed on top of her following a jump…She
is a five-time world junior champion and 13-time
Canadian champion… Won first world age group
title at age 10 in England and was a five-time
world champ by age 17.
Her brother Ken Cools is the national team BMX
coach for New Zealand… Won her first BMX
race at age three on bike built by her father…Her
father John Cools helped build the Olympic torch
that lit the flame at the Calgary Olympics…
Her brother Ken and Greg were both BMX champion
riders…
