02.21.10 - Selections for 2010 U23 Men’s Spring European Program

The Canadian Cycling Association is pleased to announce the athletes who have been selected to represent Canada during the U23 Spring European program from April 1st to the 31st, 2010. The team will stay at the CCA’s National Team base in Tielt, Belgium.

U23 Men:
Keir Plaice (ON)
Antoine Duchesne (QC)
Michael Joanisse (QC)
Owen Harrison (BC)
Spencer Smitheman (AB)
Jamie Riggs (ON)

PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND FEATURES

• Gain European racing experience in a team environment;
• A development opportunity to Canada’s bests U23 athletes;
• The project is built around the following main events:
  • April 10th Tour of Flanders, Belgium UCI 1.Ncup
  • April 14th La Cote Picarde, France UCI 1.Ncup
  • April 17th ZLM Tour, NED UCI 1.Ncup
  • Belgium National races and Kermesses;
• Between races, training sessions will be monitored along with other development activities;
