01.25.08 - Mathieu Boucher moves to CCA from FQSC

Montréal, January 25th, 2008. The Canadian Cycling Association (CCA) and the Fédération québécoise des sports cyclistes are proud to announce the appointment of Mathieu Boucher as Director, Development for the CCA, commencing April 1st, 2008. Boucher is currently the Technical Director for Mountain Bike, a position he has held since 2003.

During his five years with the FQSC, Boucher contributed greatly to the development of mountain biking, including an increased number of competitive and recreational opportunities which resulted in greater sport participation throughout the province. In addition to his role with mountain biking, Boucher is noted for having contributed to the development of BMX and for establishing FQSC as a leading federation within the province. Boucher has been a strong contributor at the national level as well during these past years as a member of the CCA’s Events Committee.

« I am excited about contributing to cycling at the national level, however it is not without mixed emotions that I leave the FQSC, as it has been a tremendous five years as part of the Quebec team, for which I would like to thank the organization. I look forward to contributing to the development of CCA and supporting the provinces and territories. It’s an honour to have been offered the opportunity to contribute to the development of cycling throughout Canada. »

The collaboration that has been extended through this hiring demonstrates the strong partnership between the two federations. The CCA remains committed to the development of cycling in Canada through its partnership with the provinces and territories.
